Octane and Caffeine

The only two things that keep this geek going

TAG | post

Anyone who has read through my blog can really get into how scatterbrained my thought processes are.  This blog has no set topic (though I tried a couple times to come up with one) and reads like the musings of some sort of madman.  I write what I feel, what I see, and what I am dealing with right that second.  My blog contains everything from failed experiments in Electrical Engineering, to codemonkeying, to recipes.

This means, my dear readers, that while one post may bring you you in and captivate you, my next one may in your opinion be nothing but worthless drivel.  I ask this of you..give me time! Eventually, another post will catch your interest and in the mean time you may learn something new and expand yourself. The other issue is the infrequency of my posting. I try not to post unless I have something worthwhile to write, because I do not want to bore you with crap. Unfortunately, the little monkey on my shoulder often makes me feel the desire to post and I have plenty of crap posts that I wrote just to have something up. Please forgive me father, for I have sinned. I will say my hail Marys later.

I also love to write about what my readers tell me to write about. I have written posts to reply to comments as well as to emails. Send in ideas, I’ll write a post specifically for you. My contact email is at the top of the page, I’m active on twitter, and I read and reply to every single comment that goes on this blog.

So, for the loyal among you that pick through my drivel and find the jewels and keep coming back, I say thank you and continually promise to hide the jewels in a bit plainer sight.  To the rest of you…thanks for trying to read through this mess I call a blog. I still appreciate your readership and will strive to make more content that you want to read.

11

8 years ago today, at just about the time this post was published, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, starting the scariest day of many of my generation’s lives.  I remember plenty about that day, but this post isn’t about me or how I felt.  I’m not going to waste your time with moving words about how 9/11 changed my life. This post is for 2,993 people who died.

As it means so much, I am going to say little.  I’m simply going to post two images and let you fill in the blanks with your own words.

9/11Heroes

No matter your politics or personal beliefs, never forget how we got to see the true character of this nation on that terrible day. And never forget the 2,993.

In my recent post about the plagarism of my blog I posted a link to a blog that was blatantly ripping off a post of mine.

Guess what…the system works!  After contacting the owner of the domain name and putting a couple comments on the blog and getting a big goosegg of a response back, I contacted the blog’s hosting provider.  I emailed them a DMCA Takedown Notice and within 2 days, down goes the blog.

Sometimes, the system works. :)
