Customer Support Response

At work, we spend time making up silly ways we would reply to our customers if we were free to confuse them.  The current one up on our board involved 3 Wolf Moon shirts and us turning into the “Wolf-Pack” Support Team.

It is my turn to add to the support responses.  I came up with this tonight, printed it off, and added it to the board.

Dear {COMPANY NAME} Customer,

Due to our recent purchase of Slap Chops for all of our staff, we no longer have boring tuna, and as such no longer have boring lives.  Because of this, we are unable to process your support ticket at this time as we are busy making America skinny again one slap at a time.  We are in great a great mood all day because we slap our troubles away.  Rest assured, you’re gonna love our nuts.  We may be able to process your support request if you could provide us with a Magic Bullet Blender or Shamwow.

Sincerely,

Vince

{COMPANY NAME} Support Team

USB Warmer – Part 2

In part 1, I outlined my plans to upgrade my USB mug warmer. Today, I have managed to “finish” the project.

After some gluing, and some soldering, and some cursing (burnt fingertips SUCK!), I plugged the warmer into a USB port.  No smoke…computer isn’t dead…yay! Looks like it is working!

Sadly, after being plugged in for half an hour..it barely got a few degrees above room temperature.  I’m not sure what the issue is..but I’m not happy about it.

So, the plan for now is to get ahold of a multimeter and check my connections.  After that, I might up the ante and add a second USB cord to it and make this one a dual-porter.

So, I was recently linked by Evil Mad Scientists Lab because I signed up for the TGIMBOEJ  in their wiki.  They apparently took the time to peruse my blog and site and found my post on my (ongoing) USB Mug Warmer Project interesting.

I perused the list of links that were part of the post I was included in and one blog in particular caught my eye. It is a blog titled “Inside Electronic Gadgets“.  It honestly caught my eye because we use the same wordpress theme, but then I delved into Vanguard’s content.  He writes about taking apart consumer electronics and the parts that can be found inside.  This is something I am INCREDIBLY passionate about, my domain name is dumpsterdivinggeek after all.  He has several pages of picture laden content showing the insides of everything from photocopiers to cellphones.  I wish I took the time to document everything I have torn down…I’d have mountains of content for you guys!
